Return Customer’s Birthday Contest

Next week ReturnCustomer.com celebrates its first birthday! Thanks to you loyal readers, it has been a great experience thus far. Here is your chance to get a little birthday present for yourself.

The Contest

  1. Name a company that excels in its field and is worth emulating.
  2. Tell us why you think the company is a great example worthy of our attention and respect.

Prizes

The nice folks over at 37signals have agreed to give away three copies of their e-book Getting Real which I recently read and thoroughly enjoyed.

The Rules

  1. Add a comment below with your name and email address (if you win, we need to contact you!)
  2. Tell us the company you like and why you think it is noteworthy.
  3. Choose your company wisely because I’ll only accept one entry per person.
  4. The contest will be open until I get around to disabling comments on the evening of Wednesday, April 26th. So get your entry in early!
  5. Three winners will be selected at random from all entries that meet the requirements set forth in these rules.
  6. The judge’s decisions are final. (That’s me)
  7. Winners will be announced on ReturnCustomer.com’s birthday: Thursday, April 27th.

Tell Your Friends

Don’t be selfish, tell your friends about ReturnCustomer.com and this contest. They may win the prize instead of you, but they’ll love you forever because of it!

Questions?

If you have any questions, drop me a line and I’ll update the contest instructions if needed. Let’s save the comments below for contest entries.

Have Fun!

One of the companies I have done business with the most as a return customer is Southwest Airlines. They are one of the most customer-centric companies I know and my loyalty to their airline had me flying them even when another airline may have been more convenient or direct. I have never had a bad or negative experience with them. I always felt like I was being treated as a friend.

A company that I continue to go back to time and time again is Amazon. Not only do they usually have better prices for their books, CD’s and DVD’s, they also make it very easy for me to find what I’m looking for. They know how to merchandise their products in a way that best fits my needs. Of course, it doesn’t hurt them either now does it?

Landstar Systems excels in the trucking industry. They contract out to owner/drivers to keep their investment low and can adjust easily with the economy.

One of my favorite companies is REI (Recreational Equipment, Inc.). I love the outdoors and REI has a great selection of gear to make being in the outdoors fun and safe. As a company, their focus is on the customer. Their unconditional happiness return policy makes any purchase risk free. My friends and I have personally experienced this to be true — no hassles. The in-store employees are very knowledgeable and not motivated by commission but by a passion for the outdoors. A small, lifetime membership fee gets you free in-store climbing on their climbing wall and annual rebates on your purchases. Their on-line shopping experience includes free shipping if you have it develered to your local store. They regularly offer free in-store clinics and workshops.

Funny, I was just thinking about posting REI since I just used their website to educate myself on some indoor rock climbing shoes then I purchased them in the local REI store, it was an all around great experience.
I got rear ended on Monday and after talking with my insurance company about getting the claim settled, it reminded me of how much they take the pain out of the normal insurance hassle. The company is American Express Insurance or they are referred to as Amerprise Financial now.
I never have to talk to more than one person to get an answer to a question, to change my billing method, or make a claim as I did on Monday. I have been insured with them for 3 years and every time I call I always get a pleasant and helpful person that takes care of my situation. This is the exact opposite experience I have had with SBC where I have to talk with 5 people in 3 departments to get anything done sometimes.
